🌿 1. God Finishes Creation (Rest Day)
Genesis 2 begins by telling us that God finished His work of creation.
On the seventh day, God rested — not because He was tired, but to set a pattern for us.
👉 This is why the idea of a day of rest (Sabbath) is important.
🌱 2. The Earth Before Man
Before man was created:
- There was no rain
- No one to work the ground
- A mist watered the earth
This shows God was preparing everything perfectly before placing man there.
👤 3. God Creates Man (Adam)
God formed man:
- From the dust of the ground
- Then breathed life into him
👉 This means:
- Our bodies come from the earth
- Our life comes from God
Man became a living soul — not just a body, but alive with God’s breath.
🌳 4. The Garden of Eden
God planted a beautiful garden called Eden and placed Adam there.
In the garden were:
- Tree of Life 🌿 (represents eternal life)
- Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil 🌳
God gave Adam everything he needed — beauty, provision, and purpose.
⚖️ 5. The First Command
God gave one clear instruction:
“Do not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.”
👉 This shows:
- God gives freedom, but also boundaries
- Obedience is part of relationship with God
🐾 6. Naming the Animals
God brought animals to Adam:
- Adam named them all
- This shows man’s authority and responsibility
But something was missing…

God said:
“It is not good that man should be alone.”
👉 First time in creation something was “not good”
👩 8. Creation of Woman (Eve)
God made Eve:
- From Adam’s rib
- Not from his head (to rule over him)
- Not from his feet (to be beneath him)
- But from his side (to be equal and close)
Adam said:
“Bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh”
👉 This is the beginning of marriage.
💍 9. The Meaning of Marriage
Genesis 2 teaches:
- A man leaves his parents
- Joins his wife
- They become one flesh
👉 Marriage is:
- God’s design
- A close, united relationship
🌅 10. Innocence Before Sin
The chapter ends with:
- Adam and Eve were naked
- They felt no shame
👉 This shows:
- They were pure
- No sin, no guilt, no fear
