Psalm Chapter 15

Explains Psalm Chapter 15

๐ŸŒฟ The Question (Verse 1)

โ€œLord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?โ€

David is asking:
โ€œWho can truly live close to God?โ€
Not just visitโ€”but dwell with Him.

This is about relationship, not religion.

๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ The Character of That Person (Verses 2โ€“5)

David then describes the kind of life that pleases God:

1. Walks uprightly

  • Lives with integrity
  • The same person in private as in public

2. Works righteousness

  • Does what is right, not just what feels right
  • Their actions match Godโ€™s ways

3. Speaks truth in their heart

  • Honest from the inside out
  • No hidden deceit or double life

4. Controls their tongue

  • Does not gossip or tear others down
  • Refuses to spread harm with words

๐Ÿ‘‰ This speaks strongly against backbiting and slanderโ€”something God takes seriously.

5. Honours the right people

  • Despises what is evil
  • Honours those who fear God

๐Ÿ‘‰ Their values are aligned with Godโ€™s values.

6. Keeps their word

  • Even when it costs them
  • They donโ€™t break promises for convenience

7. Lives with integrity in money

  • Doesnโ€™t exploit others
  • Refuses bribes or dishonest gain

๐Ÿ”๏ธ The Promise (Final Line)

โ€œHe that doeth these things shall never be moved.โ€

This means:

  • Stable life
  • Unshaken faith
  • Security in God

Not perfectโ€”but consistent, sincere, and God-fearing

โœจ The Deeper Meaning

Psalm 15 is not saying:
โ€œEarn your way to God.โ€

It is showing:
๐Ÿ‘‰ What a life transformed by God looks like

In truth, no one perfectly meets this standardโ€”
thatโ€™s why we need grace through Christ.

But this Psalm becomes a mirror:

  • It shows us where we stand
  • And what God is shaping us into

๐Ÿ”ฅ Simple Summary

Psalm 15 teaches:

  • God is not looking for perfection
  • He is looking forย truth, integrity, and a clean heart
  • A life thatย honourโ€™s Him in words, actions, and character
