The Treasure of Wisdom
A Poem on Proverbs 2
Seek for wisdom day by day,
More than silver hid away.
Dig with faith, with heart sincere,
For the Lord is always near.
Gold will fade and riches flee,
But God’s truth will set us free.
He who searches with delight,
Finds the path of life and light.
From His mouth true wisdom flows,
Every faithful servant knows.
Words that comfort, words that guide,
Keeping us from foolish pride.
When the voices call to stray,
Leading hearts from Christ away,
Wisdom whispers, calm and clear,
“Walk with God and persevere.”
She will guard your steps each day,
Lest your feet should lose their way.
Like a shepherd by your side,
She will ever safely guide.
Truth will shine when darkness falls,
Answering the Spirit’s calls.
Though temptation may appear,
God’s own wisdom conquers fear.
Choose the narrow, holy road,
Walk beneath the Father’s load.
Though the journey may be steep,
He His faithful ones will keep.
Every page His mercy shows,
Every promise brighter grows.
Every verse a priceless gem,
Every line a diadem.
So, dear friend, seek heaven’s store,
Love God’s wisdom evermore.
For the greatest wealth you’ll see,
Is to know Christ faithfully.
When this earthly race is done,
And the final prize is won,
You’ll possess a treasure true—
Life eternal, bright and new.
