Create in Me a Clean Heart

Psalm 51:10

Upon the ground with tears I fall,
Before the Lord who knows it all.
No mask to wear, no words to hide,
For every secret stands beside.

My hands are empty, stained with sin,
Yet still His mercy calls me in.
No work of mine can cleanse my soul,
Only His grace can make me whole.

“Create in me a clean heart, Lord,
Renew my spirit by Your Word.
Take not Your presence from my way,
But lead me closer every day.”

Like David bowed before Your throne,
I come with nothing of my own.
Your loving kindness is my plea,
Your boundless grace has rescued me.

Though justice speaks of what I’ve done,
Your mercy shines through Christ Your Son.
The broken heart You will not hide,
But gather safely to Your side.

So let my life Your praises sing,
To You alone, my Lord and King.
May every soul Your mercy know,
And in Your saving love now grow.
